Surgery Video: Arthroscopic Distal Clavicle Excision

Published on 9 Jun 2012

The AC joint (acromioclavicular joint) only moves 10-15 degrees throughout the entire range of motion of the shoulder. Pain in this small joint, however, can be debilitating when it occurs. Pain can result from trauma, arthritis or osteolysis. Treatment is often nonoperative, but when that fails, a mumford procedure (distal clavicle excision) may be warranted. This surgical video demonstrates the classic mumford procedure using an arthroscopic approach.
